As we begin to say goodbye to the hot Summer sun, Fall is a time to prepare for the cold months ahead. No, winter in Texas doesn’t typically come with lots of snow, but we still must prepare for what is to come. September and October are the ideal months to winterize and protect your home and belongings.
Rental Stop has many options of Pressure Washers to choose from such as Pressure Washer 4000, a Hot Water Pressure Washer, and our NEW Pressure Washer Trailer that comes with a Water Tank included. No water where you need to clean… No problem. This new Trailer has everything you need included.
Below are some tips on what you can do to winterize your home and items with a pressure washer. Remember when using a pressure washer, always take the proper safety precautions before beginning any project.
Clean out your Gutters
Gutters are an important part of your home’s structural integrity. Gutters redirect water away from your roof and walls. However, they can easily get clogged with leaves, insects, sticks, and other debris. Make sure you clean them regularly so they can do their job properly.
Decks and More
Remember when your fence or your deck was new? The wood looked so fresh and beautiful. Using a pressure washer, you can restore your fence, gate, outdoor furniture, or deck to their former glory.
Clean Your Home Exterior
While the weather is still nice, check the exterior to see if there are any areas that have dirt, moss, or mold. Now is the perfect time to tame those spots. Pressure washing your home will easily remove stains and plant growth, from brick or vinyl siding.
Cleaning and Sealing Driveways
Before Winter hits, clean your driveway with a pressure washer. If needed and the surface is dry, roll or spray on the appropriate sealant.
Before Painting your Homes Exterior
Check for peeling paint on exterior surfaces. Pressure washers are a great way to blast away old paint. Fall is a wonderful time to paint the exterior of your home, but you need to make sure that it is clean first.
Automobiles, Boats and RVs
After traveling and playing all summer long, it time to clean all those toys and cars. Most people know you can pressure wash your car or motorcycle, but you can also clean your RV, boat, jet ski, and other vehicles. Just be careful because of potential paint damage, be sure to use the gentlest cleansers and the proper nozzle.
Clean in and around your swimming pools
The inside and around your pool may also need a good scrub after a long summer. Sometimes the brushes can’t do all the work and you need to pressure wash to get all the algae and grime off. Drain your pool and pressure wash from the top down to make sure you get all the grime off. Don’t need to clean your pool, then clean off the pool deck to make it shine like new.
Garbage Cans
The inside of your trash cans is not something you think to clean, but over time they begin to stink and have lots of dirt and grime inside. Pressure wash away all the dirt and debris quickly and easily with a pressure washer. Simply lay your cans on their side and place them up against a wall or fence, so they don’t blow away with the force of the spray.
Clean your summer tools
If you do your own yard work, it is time to preserve your tools. We recommend pressure washing them before storing them for the winter. Line them up and spray them down! Make sure you dry each piece, so they do not rust before storing for the winter.
