DIY : Porch Revamp

Here are a few simple things you can do to improve your front or back porch.

DIY : Shiplap Accent Wall

1. Measure the wall to see how many boards you are going to need.
2. Find and mark all the studs.
3. Mark where you want to cut your boards and use the Miter Saw to cut each board where you marked it.
4. Make sure your boards are staggered the way you want and level. Then nail them into the wall with the Brad Nailer.
5. Repeat these steps (don’t forget to stagger boards as you go).
6. When you reach an outlet use a jigsaw to create the perfect cutout in the board to fit the outlet.
7. When you get to the end of the wall then use leftover boards to create a trim with a table saw to keep give it a nice clean finish.

How to Pressure Wash Your Driveway

Pressure washing your driveway does not only make your house look crisp and clean but it also extends the life of your driveway.
1. Remove any large items on or near your driveway such as trash cans, bicycles, large pieces of debris
2. Remove any smaller debris with a blower
3. To protect any plants that can not be moved or any shrubs with a tarp just to be safe.
4. Spot treat any rust, oil, or paint stains with a concrete detergent to ensure you get your whole driveway spotless on the first try
5. Attach the hose to the pressure washer and hold the trigger down for 30 seconds to let all the air out of the hose
6. You are ready to pressure wash!

DIY : Drywall

Do you have a hole like this in your house? Don’t worry we are here to help!
1. Cut a piece of drywall that is a little bigger than the hole.
2. Hold the piece of drywall over the hole, trace it, and then cut the wall along the traced edges.
3. Screw some furring strips onside of the hole on both sides with a cordless drill that has a drywall bit
4. Set the drywall in the hold, secure it to the furring strips with the same drill
5. Apply joint tape around the edges and cover the whole thing in compound
6. Then use a sander to make sure the repaired section is even with the wall
7. Take an acoustic sprayer rig to texture the wall
8. Then paint the area to match the rest of the wall and your done!

Equipment Corner : Sewer Snakes

This is used to go to the main line as it is the perfect size for 3 inch pipes. It can also be used in the toilet pipe area but the commode must be removed in order to do this.
This is perfect for washing machine lines, the kitchen sink, and even the clean out pipe that is on the top of some houses.
