Get To Know Us : Ryan

The highlight of my day at work is getting to watch a beautiful sunrise each morning.

My favorite part of my job is when I get to work as an audio tech. for parties and small events because it’s what I’m best at and I know that my attention to detail on jobs like this will go a long way for our customers.

The thing I have learned most during my time at Rental Stop is how to work on and service equipment. Things like how to spot something that needs servicing just by looking at it or listening to it.

What I like most about working in the rental and event industry is the excitement. My job can be very unpredictable in terms of what might happen that day. It keeps me on my toes and there is never a dull moment from start to finish.

See Saw Selections

Rental Stop has one of the largest selections of rental tools available in the DFW Metroplex.  With over a dozen different types of saws for wood work, concrete cutting and metal work we can help you check every box on your construction and DIY project. Need help finding the best saw for your project, call one of our equipment specialists today at 972-336-0059 and check out the tips below on what saws will help you get the job done right the first time.

Wood Saws

• Jamb Saw – designed specifically for removing the bottom of door casings so flooring and tile can fit under.

• 10” Table 1HP Saw – used for cutting longer cuts on wood. The Table saw performs 2 different types of cuts: rip and cross cuts.

• 14” Chop Electric Table Saw – is one of the most accurate tools for making crosscuts and miters in a piece. These are commonly used where framing needs to be done, or molding needs to be cut.

• 10”and 12” Compound Miter Saw – Similar to Table saw, but the Miter saw can perform straight cuts, angled cuts, bevel cuts and combination cuts.

• Jig saw – (and not the horror movie character) uses a reciprocating blade to cut irregular curves. Best used for cutting stenciled or design in Wood, Metal and much more.

• Reciprocating Saw (Sawzall) – cutting action is achieved through a push-and-pull motion of the blade.  Best use for demolition and cutting through plasterboard. One of the easiest and most versatile saws to use.

• 7 ¼” Circular Electric Worm Saw- great for making rounded cuts.

• 7 ¼” Circular Electric Saw- ideal for making straight cuts.

• Portable Band Saw – not typically for cutting wood, but is great for decorative cuts in wood.

• Chainsaw (Electric and Gas) – specializes in cutting trees and limbs.

• Pruning Saw (8’ Chain-gas)- used to get to hard to reach limbs and can be extended. (Think mini-chainsaw on a long pole)

Concrete Saws

• 14” and 16” Gas Cutoff handheld Saw – best used for areas with limited space and short cutting distance.

• Concrete Walk Behind 18” Saw – best for outdoor use or areas with lots of space. Used to make long distance cuts with specific line.

• 14” Brick and Block Dry Saw – used for cutting pavestones. Only concrete saw that does not require a water source.

• Tile 10” Ceramic Saw – used to cut large sections of tile into smaller and more specific pieces.

*All concrete saws except the Brick & Blow Dry Saw require a water source*

Metal Saws

• Reciprocating Saw (Sawzall) – cutting action is achieved through a push-and-pull motion of the blade.  Best use for demolition to cut and rip out the materials around a door, windows, cutting through joists and plasterboard.

• Circular Saw- is designed to use a toothed blade to transfer the heat generated to the chips that are created by the saw blade.

• Portable Band Saw – used for structural steel.  The blades available for a portable band saw are made in the shape of a ring, or a band. The band continually rotates on the wheels, creating a smooth cutting motion. The band saw can cut straight lines or change direction quickly to create curves.

• 10”and 12” Compound Miter Saw – Similar to Table saw, but the Miter saw can perform straight cuts, angled cuts, bevel cuts and combination cuts.

• Jig Saw- a saw which uses a reciprocating blade to cut irregular curves. Best used for cutting stenciled or designs in wood or metal.
